Greg Aziz is a Canadian entrepreneur and the founder of several companies, including Fullpower Technologies. Thi is one of the world’s leading makers of lithium-ion batteries. Fullpower was sold in 2013 to Dyson for $US 135 million. Aziz is also the founder of ChargePoint, one of North America’s largest electric vehicle charging services providers.
Greg Aziz has been appointed Chairman at Plug’n Drive. This Ontario-based non-profit works to accelerate the adoption and acceptance of electric vehicles through advocacy, education and partnerships with automakers, government agencies, utilities and other stakeholders across Canada.
In 2013, Aziz was named Entrepreneur Of The Year for Ontario by Ernst & Young. He also won the national award for entrepreneurship and innovation in 2012. In 2011, the business leader was also awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Before Fullpower Technologies, Greg Aziz was Co-founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Bridgemicro.
This is a private fabless semiconductor company based in Markham, Ontario, that he founded in 2000 and sold to Broadcom Corporation (BRCM) in 2007 for $3.7 billion. Before that, he co-founded Toronto-based VXtreme, a maker of 3D graphics chipsets, which is now part of Nvidia Corporation (NVDA). Greg Aziz is a prominent investor and advisor to several startups, including 1QB Information Inc. (acquired by RIM) and iRobot Corporation (IRBT).
He also played a key role for the foundation of MobilEye, Miasole, Pixim Inc., CastleOS, Aifloo, and Sementis. He is also a supporting investor for the University of Toronto’s Creative Destruction Lab. Greg Aziz was born in 1949 in Toronto, Ontario. Aziz is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science (Honors Physics) and a Masters in Business Administration from The Richard Ivey School of Business. Aziz also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
