A Studio Built on Specialization
Greg Soros started the Austin based company in 2020 after leaving a senior producer role at a major media company. Rather than chase the industry push toward churning out more and more content, he built Podcraft Media Lab around boutique, high quality production, working out of a garage he turned into a recording studio on the city’s East Side. “In the podcasting world, there’s enormous pressure to pump out content at scale,” he says. “But we discovered that by focusing on premium production quality and treating each project like a crafted piece of audio art, we actually expanded our market reach.”
That focus has translated into steady growth. The company maintains client satisfaction rates above 95 percent, and shows it produces have gone on to earn thousands of downloads along with occasional industry recognition. Close to 40 percent of new business now comes through referrals within the audio content ecosystem, including major podcast networks that outsource their most prestigious projects to the team.
Passing the Craft Forward
For Greg Soros, the mentorship work is an extension of the same philosophy that built his client roster. “The decision to specialize wasn’t about limiting ourselves,” he reflects. “It was about being the absolute best at one thing rather than merely adequate at many things.
